An existing gate in Al Wakrah may need automation, a replacement motor or mechanical repairs before a new operator is selected. Comunello Qatar can assess the entrance and define a suitable scope. This page focuses on retrofit work and the information needed to separate a gate problem from an operator problem.
Check manual movement first
Record whether the gate moves freely through its full travel. Sliding gates need attention to wheels, track joints and rack alignment; swing gates need stable hinges, suitable stops and secure fixing surfaces. A motor should not be used to force a binding gate through damaged hardware.
Identify what can be retained
Photograph the old motor label, controller, mounting base and existing safety devices. Compatibility determines whether components can be reused. Ask the quotation to identify retained equipment and any adaptations, so a replacement proposal does not hide mechanical or electrical work.
Agree access during the retrofit
Explain whether the entrance is the only route into the property and how it will be used while work takes place. Discuss the manual opening arrangement and the installation sequence before old equipment is removed. Do not assume every retrofit can be completed without temporary access changes.
Prepare an Al Wakrah assessment request
Send a short video of the gate moving, photographs of the operator and your site location. Describe intermittent symptoms, previous repairs and the preferred access method. The assessment can then focus on repair, replacement or a new automation installation.
